Objectives

• Collecting student linguists (Peer Linguists) under a banner for active debate and research in linguistics.

• An enhanced level of interaction and co-operation among the student linguists from various universities and institutions.

• Creating and maintaining a database of student linguists.

Introduction

Linguistics Peer group is a platform with immense possibilities for student linguists to exchange and enjoy the intricacies of language. Began on 26^th December, 2009 this e-group has engaged in the following activities:

• Discussion and problem solving.

• Upload/ download & exchange of academic resources.

• Updates and reminder about conferences, seminars, job recruitments etc.

• Consulting members (native speakers of a concerned language) for linguistic data

Linguistics Peer Group has been trying to meet its objectives through participation from members spread across variegated institutions like JNU, EFLU, BHU, DU, UOH and IITs.

Membership

Membership is free to all linguistics students. For membership furnishing of personal details (name, affiliating institution's name, languages known, scripts known, phone number, email id, interest areas etc.) and acceptance of invitation is needed.

• Files comprise of e-books, links to academic documents, UGC NET latest questions.

• Members database available for use.

• Up-dates relevant for linguistics students.

 Future Plans

• Launch of a journal through papers contributed by the members of the group.

• Creation of a common data base of study materials including hand-outs, e-books, journals, research papers etc.
